Welcome

The CDT department provides pupils with a varied and engaging range of subjects that will both challenge and stimulate them.

In S1 the pupils work on a series of design and make exercises incorporating wood, metal & plastic, introducing them to new skills and developing many that they had begun in primary. They are also introduced to the subject of renewable energy and how they can influence the future. They will also have an opportunity to develop a variety of graphics skills and techniques. These skills are further developed in S2 where they take on more challenging design tasks are explored. They will gain an understanding of how to use drawing equipment to develop their abilities with graphic techniques. Under the changing timetable they have an opportunity to make a choice of a number of electives.

Having six full time, and dedicated, members of staff in the department has meant that in the senior school the department is able to offer the following courses.
